Australia Entry Requirements

Undergraduate - Bachelors

A good academic record in High School Certificate or 12 years of schooling. Some courses such as Computing and Engineering will require Mathematics and /or Science as pre-requisites. 6.0 IELTS / 79 TOEFL / 42 PTE

Postgraduate - Masters

  • A good academic record in Bachelors Degree from a recognized university is necessary.
  • Any work experience in the field will be helpful
  • For MBA programs at some Universities students need to have work experience along with their Bachelors Degree
  • Masters & M.B.A. Degree for fresh Graduates available.
  • 6.5 IELTS / 90 TOEFL / 50 PTE

Study intake for Australia

Intakes & Deadlines

  • Australia generally has two intakes i.e. February and July, with few Universities offering multiple intake in September & November.
  • It is suggested that you should start making applications ideally 7-8 months prior to the intake.
  • University generally takes around 4-6 weeks to process the applications.

Australia Tuition Fee

Tuition Fees:

Students must possess enough funds to study in Australia. Normally, average tuition fees will range from AUD$ 20,000 – AUD$25,000/ year for undergraduate / postgraduate admission.

Ph.D. are mostly funded hence, mostly require a sponsor (University/College/Professor). Otherwise it will be same as any other Post graduate course.

Other Costs:

  • Institute/ University admission application fees (AUD$ 50 – AUD$ 100) as applicable
  • English/Aptitude test costs
  • Notary, attestation or Certification
  • International courier costs
  • Obtaining official transcripts, Test scores reporting costs for English and aptitude tests

Cost of Living in Australia

  • Early application for accommodation arrangements are advisable.

Australia Admission Requirements

Admission Checklist

  • Resume / Bio-data ( resume is mandatory for MBA)
  • Statement of Purpose for masters programmes and especially for MBA programmes
  • Graduation Degree Certificate / Provisional Certificate (if applying for PG)
  • Transcripts of marks
  • Standard 12 mark sheet
  • Standard 10 mark sheet
  • 2 Recommendation letters (out of which at least 1 should be academic, with the other being from the work place, if student is working)
  • IELTS / TOEFL scorecard (as proof of English proficiency) but for visa IELTS is mandatory
  • Any other relevant certificates
  • Portfolio of work must also be included, incase of application for courses in art / design etc.

Australia Student Visa

After the University approves the PVA request, the student will be advised to proceed with the payment of tuition fees and health cover and undergo medical examination.

Visa Requirements

  • Valid passport
  • Completed Form 157 A

Part Time Work Permit

Students can work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week after they start their studies and full time during vacations. However they are required to obtain a work permit by paying AUD 60 payable in Australia itself on course commencement, in favour of DIMA to obtain their work permits. The limitations on work must be strictly observed; students found working more may face deportation
