The students are provided with the details about how to go for the personal interview and how to answer the questions, which are asked by the interviewer. The students are provided with a list of Do’s and Don’ts, as pre and post departure briefing. We also provide students with the list of documents required for Visa, so that there is no mistake in the documentation part. We do the documentation for Visas of all the countries including the appointment scheduling. Our Visa Cell for students provides the able guidance of efficient Chartered Accountants for the complete financial documentation. The Visa documentation includes filing of the Income Tax Returns, Bank Certification, guidance for educational loans and bank finance etc. Other expert staff is constantly at hand to help the students in every way. What is VISA?

VISA is an approval that grants one the permission to travel to other countries and also defines his/her status in that country. There are 2 main kinds of Visas, Immigrant Visa and Non-Immigrant Visa. People who are planning to migrate or settle down permanently in a particular country of which they are not currently citizens require the Immigrant Visa. The Non-Immigrant Visa is a temporary Visa, which does not permit one to become a citizen of that country, but he/she can visit that country for a specified time. A student is required to apply for a Non-Immigrant Visa.

Student Visas

Student Visas are issued for the period it takes the visitor to complete his/her course of study, program or work assignment.

There are 4 requirements and 3 steps for obtaining a Student Visa:

• Admission in a recognized University.
• Provision of fees.
• Financial capacity to meet lodging and boarding expenses.
• Ties - financial and family, to make the student return to the home country.

The 3 steps:

• First is scoring of high marks in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Examination or IELTS, if required by the University. The University may not insist upon this exam or may admit a student with lower score but the Consular Officer always feels that it is necessary for an Indian student to be proficient in English language.
• Having a valid Offer Letter from a foreign recognized and accredited University, a student then needs to fill the Visa Application Form. Majority of the students who apply for Students Visa have a grievance that without asking a single question or looking at a single document out of the multitude of documents which they had carried with them, their Visas were denied. A wrong notion is prevailing that the decision taken by the Consular Officer without having a verbal talk with the student or without seeing the documents cannot be a proper decision.
• In the Visa interview, which is the third and the last step, the applicant of a Student Visa should know that his Passport, Bank Certificates and Offer Letter reveal all necessary particulars to the Consular Officer. The Passport shows whether the student had earlier applied for any category of Visas for any country, whether the student had traveled earlier to any country and, if so, to what countries and as what? Offer Letter reveals the particulars about the Student and the University and the duration and status of the course. Similarly, Bank Certificates show the financial data to pursue that course and the source of the student's financial support.

Documents required in Applying for VISA ( for any country):

Following are some of the basic documents that are required by the student intending to study abroad, while applying for VISA of any Country:

• Visa Application Form (varies from country to country & is available at Consulate Office/Embassy of particular country which are located in major cities of India)
• Visa Application Fees (varies from country to country. These are non-refundable & payment can be made by way of Demand Draft in Indian Rupees drawn in favour of Consulate Office)
• Passport
• Confirmed Unconditional Offer Letter/Acceptance Letter/ I-20 from the educational institution (University/College) in the foreign country.
• Scholarships and awards secured, if any
• Score Sheets of TOEFL / IELTS / SAT / GRE / GMAT Examinations as the case may be.
• Academic Mark Sheets (from 10th Class onwards)
• Other Academic Papers
• Financial Documents (for proof of financial solvency of student’s parents/sponsorer’s indicating that they can finance the cost of his/her studies in foreign country which includes tuition fees & living expenses during the period of stay in abroad)

Important Tips for Visa Interview :

The Visa interview is the grand finale for all the students who intend to study abroad. A student may go on any day for the Visa interview, in general 90 days or 120 days period prior to the expiry date mentioned on the Offer Letter/Letter of Admission / Acceptance or the I-20. However this rule may vary from country to country. Often the most deserving students fail to get Visas, as they do not know how to present their evidence before the consulate office and due to insufficient documentary proofs they fail to perform at the Visa interview. We at Krishna Consultants believe that a good preparation and systematic Visa file containing all the documentation required helps a student to reply promptly and confidently at the Visa interview. We assist the student in this respect by conducting mock interviews to ensure that a student is confident, clear and not only thoughtful but also truthful in the Visa interview. Student should tackle the questions asked tactfully. The following are some of the regular questions asked at the interview and the student should be able to confidently reply to them: Q. For what purpose are you going abroad ? Q. Why are you leaving India? Q. Why shall you return back to India? Q. What are the expenses involved for your trip? Q. Who is going to bear all your expenses and How? / Who are your sponsors? Basic Logic behind Visa Interview

The officer at Consulate/Embassy taking the Visa Interview is basically interested in three things :

• Whether your purpose is genuine that is higher studies abroad.
• Whether your family/sponsor have enough financial resources to finance your studies & living expenses during your stay abroad &
• Whether you will return to India or not after completing your education.

If a student is able to convince the interviewer on the above three typical questions, getting a Visa will not be a difficult issue.

Pre-Departure Briefing:
